Manpower

Dear Family,

This last week was...good-ish. Monday to Friday were great. Saturday and Sunday were completely meh. Let me explain: Monday-Friday was filled with hard work and satisfaction...Mainly because we were preparing a college girl, Noelia, to be baptized this Saturday. She has been really stellar and very teachable, mostly because she understands everything. She´s educated so it doesn´t take three lessons just to get the Restoration, and she can read and understand the Book of Mormon. She is also really teachable because she lives with a member so she can always just run to her. All in all a real ideal teaching situation.

ANYWAY we got permission from her parents to baptize. She called and talk to them and everything. She lives 4 or 6 hours away in a town of 5,000, and is 18, so technically she doesn´t NEED permission, but it´s ideal. We told her telling them in person is ideal, but for travel and financial reasons she chose to call. She had her baptism interview Saturday morning and everything was fine and dandy until lunch, when she called us. Her dad called her and told her not to do anything irrational, and if she gets baptized she will be cut off financially and would have to return home. She told him that it wasn´t irrational, but the baptism was canceled..I like to believe postponed. On Sunday she told us she felt terrible and so she went to visit her aunt that lives in the city. When she was waiting for the bus to return, a man put a knife to her throat and robbed her cell phone. Poor girl. I am hopeful she will get baptized...when, in the near future? It is still hard to think about, I am still kind of totally bummed out. So important, so much time. But when it comes down to it she has to get baptized, and she has the legal power to do it. We really haven´t sat down and talked about that. We are giving her time to relax until Miercoles, our next lesson.

So that´s what made the week all right. It was a complete bummer.

As for PDAY, we played football and I picked up my Easter package that was waiting for me at the offices! Thanks!

As for the fotos, they have nothing to do with what I wrote. The avocados were gifted to us and were HUGE.
The other foto is of an insurance store in downtown, it reminded me of a best friend's certain tie.
