This Week

FAMILY!

Winter is steadily approaching. I now have to leave to work with a sweater. I have switched from short sleeve white shirts to the ever trendy long sleeve white shirt. Despite of the ever-changing fashion trends of an elder, the work progresses.
This last week we were blessed with a baptism. He is a 17 year old kid who dropped out of high school and began to work/befriended a member. He is what one here would call a "chorro" or "villaro", in Chile they would say "fliete", and in Mexico I believe the term is "cholo." Regardless, he has cut his hair and now only occasionally puts his piercings in. He also is an active participant of early morning seminary. All very great things. The member that gave us the reference also baptized him; it is always wonderful seeing a member baptize the convert.
In the week we also had the consejo de lideres de zona. The last one for president and the hermana. It was rather sad. I imagine the soon approaching zone conference will be even more photo crazy and saddening. But life goes on.
As for today I got to know Salta Capital´s centro a little bit more and also went up the ever touristy gondola ride thingy. There was a couple from Scotland, thus proving again that Salta is a much more tourist friendly place.

Thanks for all the love and support.

Love,
Elder Barnes
